If you are ordering small items (tools, glazes, small chemicals, etc.) they will be shipped via UPS usually the next day. The cost of freight will be computed and added to your bill at checkout. We will not hold an order more than two business days waiting for an out of stock item. If an order has to be split into two deliveries, we will pay the UPS for the extra shipment.
If you are ordering clay or heavy raw materials or large pieces of equipment, your choices are more complex. Depending on your location and the quantities, we may UPS your order or deliver it by one of our three trucks. Our three delivery trucks serve an area that can be loosely described as anywhere one of our trucks can get to from either Baltimore, Northern Virginia or Richmond and return in one day. If you are located in that area please see the table of delivery charges. At checkout you will be given delivery options. Choose the one that seems the best for your situation. The delivery charge will be included in your purchase. Our drivers can usually get your order to the place you want it to go, however some situations are very difficult. We will discuss any special circumstances with you. If you are outside our truck delivery area and your order is heavy enough to warrant a Motor Freight delivery please give us a call and we will explore options.
For Kilns or Wheels
If you are ordering a kiln or wheel and are within our trucks’ service area we will bring the equipment to you and place it at no additional charge. We do not do electrical hook-ups or attach a vent to you building. If you are outside our service area, please call us to discuss options before ordering.
Local Delivery Fees
We deliver by our three trucks from Baltimore and Richmond. Our fees are based on distance from those two cities and Metro DC. For a sample of delivery fees click here. The charge is for any quantity of clay and/or dry materials.
