Gum Solution from Amaco, Pint
Add AMACO® Gum Solution to glazes to improve their brushability and slow their drying time which results in a more even and consistent application. Old, thick glazes can be brought back to their original creamy consistency by thinning the glaze with water first, then adding about a tablespoon of AMACO® Gum Solution, or as much as needed to obtain good brushability without drag. AMACO® Gum Solution will prevent glazes from drying fast and cracking.

Mayco Light Flux
Mayco’s SW-401 Light Flux is a mid-range glaze that was developed to be used in combination with other mid-range glazes to produce flowing effects. Mayco Flux interacts with other glazes to create movement, bringing about “hidden” colors and visual texture. Â The order in which you apply Mayco Flux – above or beneath another glaze – impacts the fired result. Designed to fire to cone 5/6, but can be fired to cone 9/10 (movement will be more pronounced at higher temperatures).
*Tile shown has Flux applied over a red glaze.
Designed to perform from cones 5-10, in oxidation or reduction firing processes on stoneware clay body of choice. Artists will appreciate the consistency of performance and control of movement. Artists will find amazing glaze combinations to expand the creative possibilities in the studio.
